I'm the kind of person who likes an adventure.

When I graduated from Ohio State with my master's, I was looking for a job in education. Something came through via e-mail about a job posting in St. Thomas. I think I got it on a Sunday, and I had to be there on a Tuesday. It was a really great experience.

I moved home , and I was specifically looking for a job in nonprofit or education. I came across the opportunity at the Godman Guild. I've been there almost five years now. I handle a lot of the fundraising initiatives. All of the incoming contributions, all of the campaigns - I coordinate all of that.

I think I noticed my passion for helping people more when I was in college. I studied abroad in Salzburg, Austria. Learning about the different walks of life that people have - how they've come to be in that situation and what path has led them there - it really changed how I looked at my own life.

Three things I can't live without are music, family and beer.

Something people might not know about me is that my husband and I are really into making wine and brewing beer. You can save a heck of a lot of money, and you can kind of make it your own.

We knew when we bought our house that we wanted to do some renovations. But we really didn't know how bad some of the things were until we'd lived in the home for a couple of months. I don't know if it's the craziest thing we've ever done, but it definitely ranks up there.

I hadn't really used any type of power tool before. Learning how to use all of this stuff has just been great. Once I had a small team of friends that could commit to helping, I jumped on it and went.

After this project's done, we' d maybe like to travel more. We're normally really into mountain biking, hiking, anything outdoors. We love being outside and doing stuff with our dogs. We take them everywhere. We like to garden. We have a garden here in the summer.
