Every time they put on a performance, dancers are doing a service to the community by sharing their art. Xclaim Dance Company will go one step further while performing "Red Light Red Letter" this weekend to raise awareness about human trafficking. While we tend to think of that sort of exploitation occurring in foreign countries, the Ohio Study Commission on Human Trafficking has estimated that more than 1,000 teenagers are being trafficked right here in Ohio.

The show, with jazz-fusion choreography by Xclaim Artistic Director Mariah Layne French and several of the company's dancers, explores the problems created by trafficking as well as the triumph of breaking free from bondage. While the performance will draw attention to the issue, it will also raise money for anti-trafficking organizations.
