No place in town rivals German Village's Skillet when it comes to inventive takes on the classic comfort dish macaroni and cheese.
If we're being honest, there aren't many ways to screw up pasta drowned in gooey, cheesy goodness, but there are a whole lot of ways to improve upon that simple concept. And Skillet has come up with several.
Chef Kevin Caskey changes up the menu at his foodie-favorite hotspot fairly frequently, but there's usually some variation on mac & cheese on there. Right now, in fact, you'll find two versions on the weekday menu, available at lunch and dinner.
The Mac & Green combines a brick of Skillet's baked pasta-and-Ohio-cheeses with horseradish and spicy mustard greens. And then the Mac & Braised Beef Short Rib goes even further, adding on a mound of stewy pulled slow-braised beef.
Previously offered iterations have included brisket and pulled pork. And I can only fantasize about what they'll come up with next.
