It would've been better if the story focused more on the greatest racehorse in the history of the world than on courageous, spunky owner Penny Chenery (Diane Lane), but I guess you can't blame Disney for tossing a bone to a mom schlepping kids to the theater. Still, this film's a moving portrait of a true champion who won the hearts of millions en route to earning the Triple Crown.
