There's some much needed good news out of Tucson, Arizona. The victim our nation has been tracking so closely the last few weeks is making a miraculous recovery and is now apparently upright and communicating.

Yes, that's right. Sarah Palin is back - that was kind of a misdirect, wasn't it? Actually, a lot of the credit for Palin's recovery has to go to her nurse, Sean Hannity. In fact, during last week's interview, Hannity was able to upgrade Palin from innocent bullied teen to Joan of Arc.

Hannity said the media has singled Palin out, a lot of people on the left haven't been very civil toward her and she doesn't complain about that very much.

Huh!? Maybe you should watch her when she appears on "The Sean Hannity Show." I know it's hard to see between the plumes of ass-smoke you're blowing, but is it hard to hear, too?

Regardless, the ex-governor did have a valid complaint.

"I've been falsely accused of being an accessory to murder a crazed gunman that I or you and others had nothing to do with influencing him; he is the sole person to blame," Palin said.

She's right. The immediate aftermath of the tragedy was unduly and unnecessarily politicized, but Palin quickly lost me by referring to the gunman as "an apolitical or perhaps even left-leaning criminal."

Did you see what she did right there? There must be a word for complaining vociferously about a wrong being done to you whilst casually committing said wrong yourself with no awareness.

If there's not a word, let's come up with one. Let's call it an Anchorage Steamer. No, how about a Palindrome?

Palin was rightly annoyed that people read into her crosshairs map and her "don't retreat, reload" statements as an attempt to incite. She's frustrated because people ascribe overwhelmingly negative motivations to her innocent actions.

By the way, why did people link her to the shooting in Tucson? Here comes the Caribou ball-swivel.

"Those on the left hate my message, and they'll do all they can to stop me," Palin said. "There are many on the left who don't want Congress to buckle down and get back to work. There's this trifecta thing going on in our country right now that is going to bring our country to her knees."

So your critics aren't motivated by a sincere belief of the corrosive nature of your rhetoric? They only want to see America brought to her knees and will do anything to keep their foot on the neck of America.

Is it possible, Mrs. Palin, that you have become a lightning rod less for your vision, but more for turning any criticism of you into persecution of you while still casually dismissing a large portion of America?

"Those on the left, if it weren't for their double-standards, they'd have no standards," Palin said.

Someone has a new campaign slogan! Or she could go with, "Half the country is amoral a-holes."
