By virtue of its title, The Big Bar & Grill claims to be larger. But is it better? Are the bars simply two sizes of the same thing, like different orders of fast-food fries? Among Campus bars, does size really matter?

Here's what we found.

Building used to be:

The Little Bar: An IHOP, hence the A-frame, then an Asian grocery store

The Big Bar: Panini's Bar and Grill

Hallmark feature:

The Little Bar: A-frame roof

The Big Bar: Three floors

Ambiance:

The Little Bar: The long bar, extensive wood paneling and booth seating draw people looking to chill out and watch sports with close friends.

The Big Bar: A cavernous main floor encourages a party atmosphere Thursday through Saturday. DJs and cheap drinks help as well.

Accurate name?

The Little Bar: Not really. Compared with other Campus bars like Too's and Mama's, the bar is a sprawling palace. Decently Sized Bar might be more appropriate.

The Big Bar: Yes. Even if only the main floor existed, there'd still be plenty of space to drink, dance and DJ yourself silly.

Happy hour:

The Little Bar: 4-9 p.m. Monday-Friday: $2 drafts and well drinks

The Big Bar: 4-9 p.m. Tuesday-Friday: $2 domestic bottles, drafts and well drinks; half-off appetizers

Daily drink specials:

The Little Bar: Yes

The Big Bar: Yes

Best drink special:

The Little Bar: Every Monday, all Irish beer and whisky is half-price

The Big Bar: From 9-11 p.m. Saturdays, everything except top-shelf liquor is $1

Food sitch:

The Little Bar: Nothing in-house, but the nearby Buffalo Wild Wings waives the delivery charge on orders from the bar

The Big Bar: Full menu of bar bites includes burgers, sandwiches and fried sides. Food specials are offered daily.

Key amenities:

The Little Bar: Parking lot, heated and enclosed smoking patio

The Big Bar: Multiple bars, elevator

Best bar game:

The Little Bar: Silver Strike Bowling

The Big Bar: Two lanes of arcade-style Skee-Ball

Look forward to:

The Little Bar: Sept. 3. Its proximity to the 'Shoe makes this a prime spot to hit for the first home game.

The Big Bar: Summer. In April, the bar begins construction on a 2,000-square-foot rooftop patio.

Verdict:

The Little Bar: A cozy spot with an intriguing ski-lodge feel

The Big Bar: A good place to go for rowdy college craziness
