If you want to catch one more Oscar nominee before Sunday's awards, the Gateway will be showing Best Documentary nominee "Waste Land."

It chronicles an ambitious project of Brooklyn-based artist Vik Muniz as he returns to his native Brazil. Muniz travels to a massive Rio de Janeiro landfill, where he documents "pickers," workers who sift through tons of garbage for recyclable material.

Both moving and entertaining, "Waste Land" has a social and environmental conscience without preaching, but it's also an intriguing meditation on art itself. Go see why it deserved its Oscar nod.
