If you know the mission behind ARTillery, a small collective of local artists, it makes perfect sense that they'd host an event like this. Since its formation in 2009, the Gateway-based group has quietly trumpeted artwork being made all over the city, not just in their own studios. ARTillery aims to make its exhibits accessible and comprehensive.

They routinely showcase other artists' work at invitationals, one of which will be held this week at Junctionview Studios. Members of the collective invited local artists they feel are relevant to the contemporary art discussion to participate in the exhibit. It's a chance to check out work from 11 artists you may not have seen before, such as sculptures by Allison Buenger, carvings by Samantha Hookway and drawings by Ryan Agnew (above).
