Mojoflo: "Home to You" b/w "Dance"

Mojoflo's first foray into vinyl finds them eschewing the omnivorous genre-hopping that characterizes their concerts and EPs to zero in on snappy big-band soul. Guitarist George Barrie's "Home to You" leads off with stabs of brass, organ squalls and syncopated drum and bass that trace the lineage of today's dance music back to the days when rip-roaring bands like this were the norm. Machine-gun staccato heralds keyboardist Tim Magree's B-side "Dance," another up-tempo R&B throwdown that revives Motown at its liveliest and most pleasingly poppy.
