Those who've heard Welsh trio The Joy Formidable's breakthrough album "The Big Roar" know Ritzy Bryan and the boys douse their arena-rock epics in gleaming noise-pop more artfully and accessibly than most. But those who've seen The Joy Formidable live know the album doesn't do this band justice.

They tore a gaping hole in this month's South by Southwest conference with the same manic electricity that launched members of Alive's staff into ecstasy last fall at the Wexner Center. Bryan and her bandmates careened through the tunes with cock-rock posture and wide-eyed glee.

They'll do it again Monday with The Lonely Forest and Mona.
