"The people who come in here are never those chachi kind of people. It's just super casual and no expectations. We drink with our pinkies down in this bar."
What do you like about bartending?
Well, I particularly love bartending here. This atmosphere is completely different from any other bar I've ever worked at. It's my favorite spot because it's just so laid-back and casual.
My job is awesome - I get to listen to great live music every day. I love music and it's always been a big part of my life, so now that I get to work somewhere, listen to live music and make money, that's awesome.
Tell me about the crowd here.
We have a really great crowd. I like that I'm able to just be myself and talk to people. The people who come in here are never those chachi kind of people. It's just super casual and no expectations. We drink with our pinkies down in this bar. [laughs]
What music are you in to?
I'm a big bluegrass fan, so I listen to a lot of Yonder Mountain String Band, Fleet Foxes, Iron and Wine, and My Morning Jacket. But I really don't discriminate. I listen to all genres. That's another nice thing about working here; we get all genres of music. We used to be just a blues bar, but now we'll get bluegrass, rock 'n' roll, reggae.
What's your favorite show you've seen here?
Lukas Nelson was just here and I have to give him props, not just because he's a national act, but because he's an incredible artist and blew everyone's socks off.
What do you drink?
I like whiskey. I drink Jameson or Bushmills.
If you could have a drink with any person, living or dead, who would it be?
My first thought is to say a musician, but honestly, I think I'd have fun partying with Vince Vaughn. I just love his characters in every movie, and I think he's just being himself. He's hilarious - I know he would make me laugh, and I could joke around and be sarcastic the entire time.
