Why you should go:

Why you should go:

Whether you're an achiever, a nihilist or a dude, this is the festival for you - a fest where the Coen brothers' cult classic, "The Big Lebowski," literally comes to life.

The festival, which began in Louisville in 2002 and has since branched out across the country, is a celebration of all things Lebowski. Just don't bring your work papers. That would be a bummer, man.

What to eat and drink:

Both Skully's and the Columbus Square Bowling Palace have fully stocked bars and will offer specially priced White Russians. If you get the munchies, each venue offers some pub grub and concessions-style eats.

Entertainment:

On Friday, Columbus alt-rock heroes Phantods will perform before a screening of "The Big Lebowski." Saturday offers general admission bowling and shoe rental with the price of a ticket.

Don't miss:

The best part of any Lebowski Fest is the costume contest. Be sure to show up in your most awesome outfit for a chance at glory and an engraved bowling trophy. Prizes are also awarded to the best Dude, Walter, Jesus, Maude and group costumes.

Try your hand at Lebowski trivia for a chance to win an "obviously you're not a golfer" trophy, and there will also be prizes for the night's highest bowling score.
