Don B.

Don B.

Any Columbus band worth its weight in PBR has performed the "Batman" theme song (and perhaps "Louie Louie") with Don Bovee, a local institution who's difficult to understand and even tougher to refuse. He has no stage presence, no discernable musical talent and no front teeth, but it's impossible to imagine the Columbus music scene without him.

Some of the city's garage rock greats will gather at Cafe Bourbon Street on Friday to celebrate Don B.'s 69th birthday. Cheater Slicks, The Ferals and Washington Beach Bums will take the stage, surely with innumerable guest appearances from Bovee. Good luck getting "Batman" out of your head after this one.
