Alive readers, I owe you an apology. I dropped the ball by not covering "Childrens Hospital" when it began airing on Adult Swim last year.

I'm sure many of you were aware of this hilarious 15-minute series, created by Rob Corddry, that brilliantly spoofs the medical dramas permeating network television. But for those of you who haven't seen it yet, here's my pronouncement: Watch this show!

At Childrens Hospital - yes, there's no apostrophe; the hospital for children is owned by Dr. Childrens - hyperbolic drama, revolving sex-capades and self-aggrandizing voiceovers take precedence over saving kids. These incompetent doctors come through on that end occasionally, too.

Corddry, Megan Mullally, Malin Akerman, Ken Marino ("Party Down"), and up-and-comers Rob Huebel and Erinn Hayes join a cornucopia of fantastic guest stars in a gut-busting lampooning of "Grey's Anatomy," "ER," "House, MD," etc.

In the Season 3 premiere, a boy who was caught in quicksand forces the hospital crew to come in to work - on a weekend! - pulling them away from hobbies such as flying pantsless, living in a "TRON"-like world and sleeping with Lisa Edelstein from "House."

While the regulars pull off most of the show's best jokes, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the upcoming guest stars.

I thought nothing could top Jon Hamm's cameo. But then Nick Offerman returned as the mustachioed cop Chance Briggs, and he voyaged into Childrens Hospital's mental ward full of shiv-wielding miscreants.
