His remake of a 1963 samurai movie rightly gets comparisons to some of the genre's best, in no small part for an unforgettably relentless 45-minute battle sequence.

In fact, the Wexner Center is pairing it with Akira Kurosawa's western-inspired 1961 film "Yojimbo."

For fans of the genre, you won't find a better double feature.
