The Alwood sisters have collaborated their wholes lives. When Amy Alwood and Meagan Alwood-Karcic were little, they teamed up to build forts. Recently they've been performing together - with the Karcic brothers, Jovan and Milan - in the subdued, folky fam band Alwood Sisters.

While both sisters are musically inclined, they are also gifted visual artists. Their latest collaboration is the two-woman exhibition, "Duet," opening Saturday at The Gangway. The narrow Clintonville shop will display 20 of the sisters' paintings, as well as a few tapestries and a colorful collaborative piece.

Stop by between 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, to hear the Karcic brothers and Matt and John Umland of Tin Armor play during the opening reception.
