Whetstone Park

Clintonville loves its trees, and the northern neighborhood blossoms beautifully throughout the season. Once in Whetstone Park, wander the paved Olentangy Greenway Trail and the tree-lined residential streets east of the river. Giant oaks and maples abound.

From the Schrock Lake Picnic Area, wander past the water and hop onto the Edward S. Thomas Trail. This wooded mile has a substantial share of locust, maple and oak trees ó and an observation deck with a stunning panoramic view. The Spring Creek Trailís also great.

State Route 33 is littered with interesting outdoor places, so many blow right by this park. Donít. While climbing the mile-long Ridge Trail, hikers can see the Downtown skyline and thousands of colorful trees in between. Itís a hearty, rewarding trek.
