Nail biting! Jimmy Stewart! Killer birds!

Nail biting! Jimmy Stewart! Killer birds!

For the second year, the Gateway is presenting a selection of classic Alfred Hitchcock films. You can still catch “The Birds” — which still gives me the heebie-jeebies 20 years after first seeing it — tonight. But there’s plenty more on the plate: “Vertigo” starts Friday night, and “Rear Window” and “Psycho” will screen later this month.

These films are prime examples of how Hitchcock used simple directing techniques to produce plant-you-deep-in-your-chair suspense. Seize the opportunity to see them on the big screen. Tickets are $6 for each show.
