I never understood why the bands on Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney's Audio Eagle label didn't blow up like crazy. Not only were Houseguest, Beaten Awake and Royal Bangs endorsed by one of the most beloved bands in rock, they each released amazing albums.

Thankfully Knoxville, Tennessee's Royal Bangs has eventually gone on to the brink of hipster household name status. Glassnote debut "Flux Outside" rightly garnered rave reviews and late-night talk show appearances for its invigorating brand of pop-rock that deploys keyboards, guitars and fiery vocals with equal aplomb. For those who miss the early 2000s but want to live in the now, it's an epiphany.
