Travis Owens of Giuseppe's calls the Vow of Silence "warm, sweet and spicy."

"This unique cocktail was created due to our love of herbal liqueur here at the Ritrovo," Owens said. "Chartreuse is such a unique blend of spice and sweetness that is perfect when paired with chai tea in the winter months."

Tip: Toast star anise in a dry skillet as you would toast walnuts or pine nuts. Keep the pod moving so it doesn't scorch, and remove from heat when the pod becomes aromatic.
