Ohio is home to a good number of evergreen trees — eastern hemlock, Austrian pine and Norway spruce, to name a few. They are the emerald reminders that life still thrives even in the coldest, dreariest of times. (Deciduous trees are kicking, too, just not in such a flashy fashion.)
Naturalists will teach you a few tricks to identify leafless trees and those with needles during an interactive session Saturday at Blacklick Woods Metro Park. Meet at the Ash Grove Picnic Area. Dress warmly.
