Staff Pick: Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments at Ace of Cups

DoneWaiting.com’s ninth anniversary party boasts a suitably sick playbill, including precocious rap upstart P. Blackk, legendary Cleveland folk-pop recluse Bill Fox, weary classic rock warriors Sundown, lyrical artisan Zero Star and Get Right’s DJ Detox on the decks. But the rightful headliner is Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments, among the most acclaimed and enthralling acts ever to stupefy rock nerds in this burg and around the world. The original lineup of Ron House, Bob Petric, Ted Hattemer and Craig Dunson is reuniting to play 1995 album “Bait and Switch,” which finds the pairing of House’s snarling bleat and Petric’s uncouth blues-punk meanderings at its most potent.
