Lectures, let’s face it, are boring. Pecha Kucha is not.

The Japanese-rooted presentation form — speakers speak over 20 slides for 20 second per slide — has been embraced internationally, and it’s been going strong in Columbus, now marking its fifth anniversary.

The first of this year’s events takes place at the Columbus Museum of Art, with presenters including architectural photographer Brad Feinknopf, Dwight Heckelman of Groove U, Jessica Mathews of Consider Biking and more.

Attendees can also check out the museum’s exhibits throughout the evening, and folky indie rockers Coal Fired Bicycle will perform during intermission.

And will there be food trucks, you ask? Of course there will be food trucks. This is Columbus, people.

A suggested donation of $2 per person will fund future Pecha Kucha awesomeness, and free parking is available in nearby lots.
