Preview: Langhorne Slim at The Summit

Langhorne Slim was born a ramblin’ man, a troubadour with a guitar and a bottomless well of Van Morrison-inspired anthems. He dispenses reality checks (“Darlin’, look, nobody plans it this way”) and nonsensical philosophy (“Everyone has got a dream, you know what I mean?”) in equal measure, but even his more romantic lyrical excursions are tempered by down-to-earth approachability. He seems like the kind of guy who makes new fans every time he steps on stage, which may be how he’s managed to accrue a devoted fan base without much hype.

Joining him Saturday at The Summit will be Dolfish, another songwriter with a knack for making everyday struggles sound downright poetic.
