One of the great things about an independent radio station like CD101 is its dedication to local music — from devoting an hour to local music every weeknight at 9 p.m. to giving Columbus bands the opportunity to open for national acts.
The station continues its tradition of giving a local band an opening slot in its signature shows. With this year’s CD101 Day split into two shows, that means two bands will get to take the LC stage ahead of Kasabian, The Naked & Famous and others.
Five bands culled from an online vote will perform Friday at Skully’s: Bonneville, Indigo Wild, Phantods, The Regrettes and The Spruce Campbells. Attendees can help decide who lands the coveted CD101 Day slots. Oh, and it’s a free show. Win-win.
