CD101 Day just keeps getting bigger. First, the venerable 102.5 crew expanded their big spring show to two dates — Side A is this Saturday and Side B the next. Then they moved both shows from LC Pavilion’s indoor stage to its outdoor amphitheater, letting a few thousand extra fans in on the fun.
Topping Side A’s bill is Kasabian, one of today’s banner Britpop bands, on their first U.S. tour in five years. The group’s 2011 album was called “Velociraptor!,” and their evolution matches that of the sneaky smart, deadly dinosaur. They’ve come to know their way around pop music like those creatures in Jurassic Park knew their way around doorknobs.
Also on tap Saturday: Margot & the Nuclear So & So’s, an Indianapolis combo featuring Columbus dude Erik Kang, toting a taut new record called “Rot Gut, Domestic.” Rounding out the bill are Of Monsters and Men, J. Roddy Walston and The Business, and locals The Spruce Campbells.
