Preview: Caveman at The Basement

By Columbus Alive
From the April 4, 2012 edition

Caveman is one of those bands that doesn’t seem to exist outside of Brooklyn buzz-band circles, a group that will play a dozen times at industry schmooze-fests like CMJ Music Marathon and get pegged as next-big-things despite nary a whimper of grassroots euphoria outside the borough. But 2011 debut “Coco Beware” proves them worthy of something more than keeping-up-with-the-Joneses’-blog one-upsmanship, something closer to true love. The album positions them on a spectrum between Real Estate and Local Natives — drifting, but not toward sun-drenched detachment so much as uneasy twilight.

Night Moves opens Tuesday’s show.
