Is there such a thing as too much action? Well, watch “The Raid: Redemption” and find out!
The Indonesian import has been getting buzz as an epic action-tacular, and, boy, it’s almost exhausting.
It’s got a plot right out of a video game. A team of police officers are raiding an apartment high-rise where a crime boss is acting as landlord for any undesirables looking for a place to hide from the authorities.
So basically it’s good guys fighting through scores of bad guys. Yep, that’ll do.
“Raid” is beyond action-packed … you’ve got epic gun battles AND epic martial arts battles. There’s even a solid story with some doozy twists.
But the buzz that it’s one of the best action flicks in decades is a bit misplaced. Awesome? Yep. But all of that action tends to blur after a while.
No doubt it’ll get your blood pumping, though. Action junkies, take note.
