Staff Pick: Cornel West lecture

By Columbus Alive
From the April 12, 2012 edition

Cornel West has risen to a celebrity status enjoyed by few of his academic counterparts. His day job is Princeton University professor, but you’ve likely seen him on late-night television, heard him on NPR or caught him in “The Matrix Reloaded.”

West talks a potent mix of politics, history, commentary and entertainment. His views on American racial relations are fiery and provocative, and they demand attention, no matter where you stand on the political spectrum.

West’s appearance at COSI is in partnership with the museum’s “Race: Are We Really So Different?” exhibit. Everyone who attends the lecture will receive admission to the exhibit, and the lecture is sure to be a conversation starter. The $25 ticket covers the lecture, exhibit and a reception. Students pay just $15.
