Baroness continues to span the color spectrum. In the wake of “Red Album” and “Blue Record,” the Georgia heavy hitters will return this summer with the as-yet-unheard “Yellow & Green.” The gimmick with the various hues works not so much because of some vast diversity between the albums — I can’t distinguish between “Red”- and “Blue”-era tracks — but because Baroness paints so vividly in a genre that often comes off black as midnight. John Baizley’s angry ogre routine sounds downright enlightened against a backdrop saturated with harmony and Southern swagger. They are the proverbial breath of fresh air, and they will blow you down.
Royal Thunder opens Wednesday’s show.
