Dead Moon wasn’t dead long before Fred and Toody Cole got back to banging out unhinged lo-fi punk. Less than a year after the Portland legends hung it up, they were back on the road in 2007 with Pierced Arrows. Now the couple’s second act is quickly becoming as legendary as the first. Their take on lo-fi garage rock skirts the edges of art without the conceptual messing-about that’s often part of the deal. Rather, it’s just howls and growls and sonic blows to the face.
