Bloomington, Indiana trio Good Luck taps into the DIY house-show dude-bro mojo that has come to define their hometown music scene, and they do it without succumbing to the cloying, cutesy or self-righteous impulses that can deep-six a band like theirs. “Without Hesitation,” their latest album for No Idea Records, proves the whiney-voiced pop-punk anthem can be done with dignity. Every song is jammed with hooks, every hook charged with power and emotional weight. There is no reinventing the wheel, but also no wheel-spinning. Their set with Spoonboy this Tuesday at Carabar ought to be triumphant.
