Now this is summer: rock ’n’ roll, hot dogs and pizza, a giant lawn. And Reggie Jackson and Wade Boggs.
In one of the quirkier programming creations of the season (it’s a promotional event for Pepsi), the baseball greats will coach a hitting exhibition before “X Factor” hero Josh Krajcik and ’90s band “If You Could Only See” Tonic take the awesome new Commons stage.
Event organizers say the Commons lawn will be transformed into a baseball skills field. Spectators are promised ample views of the hitting action.
Tastings of Pepsi and Taco Bell products will be served, and Commons cafes Burgers, Dogs and Fries and Pizza Shack by Lola will be open. Yes, there will be beer and other beverages.
A youth baseball clinic starts at 4 p.m., and the grown-up players start warming up at 5:30 p.m. The hitting exhibition starts at 6 p.m.
But wait — there’s more! Krajcik plays at 8 p.m., and Tonic goes on at 8:30 p.m.
And Reggie Jackson and Wade Boggs will be there. So go.
