Woodlands Tavern
1200 W. Third Ave., Grandview

Woodlands Tavern already has a laidback vibe (so does much of the live music played there), but things really slow down when you’re sunning yourself on its large patio overlooking Third Avenue in Grandview. Speaking of which, isn’t Grandview just the most chillaxed of hip Columbus suburbs?
You’ll often come across a couple of mid-twenty-somethings sipping one of Woodlands’ draft beers — they’re $2 all night long on Monday Fundays — while just chilling and enjoying the weather. If it’s cooler outside, patrons (usually smokers) will be huddled near the fire pit to keep warm. —Jesse Tigges

This spring the hangout tucked between the Short North and Campus added a patio, which it shares with its neighbor, Commonwealth Sandwich Bar. It’s just right for kicking back and enjoying a beer and sandwich.

This bar is located in a converted house, and it always makes you feel like you’re at home. The patio out front curls around the side and is quite popular during the summer, especially because your four-legged friends are invited to join you. Please do not give your dog whiskey, though.
