Preview: Avicii at the LC

Don’t be surprised if you feel a sort of whiplash or temporal displacement when pondering Avicii, a Swedish house wunderkind who’s among the heavyweights of the new DJ world order. He flipped a sample from Etta James’ “Something’s Got a Hold On Me” into an international dance hit called “Levels,” which later became the basis for Flo Rida’s smash radio hit “Good Feeling.” (You know, the one that goes “Oh, sometimes I get a good feeling”?)

It goes to show what a hall of mirrors pop music has become, for better or worse. That said, Wednesday’s dance party at LC probably won’t be heavy on reflection.
