As a German Villager, I’m in love with the neighborhood’s beautiful brick homes. During normal summer evenings, the closest one can get to seeing inside those fancy residences is glancing in a non-curtained window while walking by. (It’s not as creepy as it sounds: Many of the nicer homes seem to proudly keep the windows uncovered for passersby to enjoy.) But once a year, the city’s best event for those with aspirations of owning perfect-looking houses rolls around: the German Village Haus und Garten Tour. See the insides and backyards of homes such as Mike and Deena Robinson’s, pictured above. I promise the experience really is worth the $20 admission.
