Staff Pick: Olde Towne East Tour of Homes

By
From the July 12, 2012 edition

Olde Towne East was originally the stomping grounds of Columbus’ powerful politicians, industrialists and tycoons of the ridiculously loaded variety. Thus, the Italianate and Victorian mansions in this storied neighborhood are still gorgeous even after, in some cases, decades of neglect. The annual tour of homes in OTE is a superb way to see renovated takes on the classics in this cool neighborhood in transition. This year visitors will walk through 12 homes, including a mansion on Broad Street and an 1890s-era home that spent several years as an apartment building. Tickets are available the day of the tour for $20, but order them early to save $5.
