Come one, come all to the most historically salacious show of the weekend. Starring some panty-droppingly beautiful burlesque dancers from across the Midwest, Erotique Variete Burlesque is a three-show, one-night art event that melds the popular throwback dance form with Vaudevillian theater sensibilities. The evening will celebrate the original ladies of the night —Gypsy Rose Lee (who once performed in the Garden Theater), Josephine Baker, Mae West and others.
The first and third shows — at 8 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. — are the same and will be held on the Garden Theater’s main stage. Variety acts, like clowning, music and burlesque performances will take the Green Room Stage for the 9:15 p.m. show.
A production company started by local starlet of the striptease stage Viva Valezz (pictured) is hosting Erotique Variete Burlesque. Its stars, with one gloved-finger, come-hither stroke, promise to take viewers away to a surreal world where kooky is kind of kinky. Enter if you dare.
