There’s an easy grace about Blind Pilot. The Portland sextet’s richly conceived folk-pop pours out of them without any apparent strain beyond the emotional wrangling that inspired it. It’s simply beautiful, soul-stirring music, never as cute as you’d expect from a group that once toured the West Coast on bicycles hauling homemade trailers.
The band hasn’t released anything new since their last stop at the Newport in February, but there’s more than enough wonder in 2011’s “We Are the Tide” to justify a return trip. River City Extension opens Tuesday’s show.
