Now comes “WIXIW,” a tough-to-pronounce but easy-to-digest set of gurgles and clicks. Devoid of physicality and created entirely inside computers, Liars’ latest conceptual jump-off seethes and sighs without unraveling the ominous thread that connects their discography.

For all the intellectual machinery at play, Saturday’s show at A&R will probably still crush you. The utterly charming indie pop combo Unknown Mortal Orchestra will set the stage.
