“NTSF:SD:SUV” skewers everything — from the silly balls-to-the-wall action to the ridiculous caricatures on screen — that populates so many of television’s cop/special agent/FBI dramas. “NTSF:SD:SUV” has obvious jokes, but they still work.
Paul Scheer stars as Trent Hauser and has all kinds of fun ripping the likes of David Caruso’s Horatio Caine from “CSI: Miami” and Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer on “24.” As Hauser’s partner Piper, Scheer’s real-life wife June Raphael — nepotism does work! — often steals the show from her husband with her perfect comedic timing.
