Tuesday’s gig presents two all-female groups from New York with wildly divergent sounds.
Artsy sister act Zambri’s “House of Baasa” LP is creeping, smeared-lens synth music. It’s an extension of the dreamy, trans-global sounds that have been dominating Brooklyn’s exports lately, but unlike much of that muck, Zambri’s music has teeth.
Japanese transplants The Suzan play deconstructed, tough-to-define takes on rock, punk and pop that make for one strange party. You might know their song “Come Come” from a Verizon commercial, but you definitely don’t know them from “Kill Bill” because that was the 220.127.116.11’s.
