We’re all sick of “Somebody That I Used To Know” by now, but don’t hold that against Gotye. The man wrote a damn fine mid-tempo ballad that happened to catch fire; our pop music industrial complex is to blame for the song’s relentless grip on the radio dial. (Seriously, it’s been in heavy rotation on at least five Columbus stations for months.)
Furthermore, “Making Mirrors,” the 2011 album that birthed 2012’s most inescapable single, is the kind of Sting record Sting should still be making. To top it off, Brooklyn darlings Chairlift and ex-Books venture Zammuto are the opening acts, making Monday’s show among the more artful ’80s throwbacks to grace Columbus this year.
