It would be fair to say Morbid Angel is beyond its heyday. But Tampa’s death metal stalwarts are still crushing, even after the usual lineup changes that come with nearly three decades of sonic destruction.
Legacy bands with mix-and-match membership are more of a toss-up in concert than your average rising talent. But considering their headlining gig at last year’s Scion Rock Fest was their first U.S. gig in six years and 2011 album “Illud Divinum Insanus” was their first in eight, making the trip to Reynoldsburg seems prudent for death metal devotees.
