Preview: The Raveonettes & Melody’s Echo Chamber at A&R

By now there are few surprises with The Raveonettes. The Danish duo’s particular strain of Jesus & Mary Chain worship stands above the static-drenched masses. Yet new LP “Observator” still manages to subtly reveal new wrinkles in the band’s woozy sonic territory. It’s another incredibly solid outing from a band that should be bled dry by now, and it’s good reason to check out the show Saturday at A&R.

Furthermore, exceptionally talented shoegaze sister-in-arms Melody’s Echo Chamber is opening. The project’s self-titled album identifies Parisian songstress Melody Prochet as more than your average blip in the blogosphere. Her blend of influences is distinctly Euro but about as far from trash as they come.
