Theater preview: A Christmas Carol

From the November 22, 2012 edition

“A Christmas Carol” is the “Romeo and Juliet” of holiday stories. Everyone knows the tale. Everyone has seen multiple renditions of it. Everyone has seen at least one crushingly boring rendition of it.

Hark! This version, performed by the Nebraska Theatre Caravan, is not one of those. Proof? Its stage presentation of the Charles Dickens classic has been invited back to Columbus for more than 30 years. The production is heralded for its spooky re-creations of the creepiest moments that befall our dear Ebenezer Scrooge. The musical numbers that accompany this classic tale will also have you hooked. No bah humbugs necessary. Tickets are $22 to $32.
