Holiday Booze Gift Guide: Party Cocktails

Having a good selection of beer, wine and liquor is a necessity at any holiday party, but you also need to serve a few cocktails. Here are some recipes that are tasty, potent and easily executable.

Holiday Punch

Six cups vodka

Two liters Canada Dry Cranberry Ginger Ale

One cup of Rose’s Lime Juice cordial

Half cup of maraschino cherries

Two oranges, sliced in rounds

Combine ingredients in a large punch bowl, stir and keep refrigerated or serve over ice.

Holiday Nog

Eight cups bourbon

One gallon eggnog

One tablespoon cinnamon

One tablespoon nutmeg

Combine ingredients, stir and keep refrigerated. Serve with a cinnamon stick.

Mulled Wine

One (750 ml) bottle red wine

Four ounces brandy

Four cups apple cider

Two ounces honey

Five whole cloves

Juice and zest from one orange

Three cinnamon sticks

Combine ingredients in a large pot and bring to a simmer for 30 minutes with continuous stirring. Serve warm with a cinnamon stick garnish.

Classic Martini

Two and a half ounces gin

Half ounce dry vermouth

Angostura bitters

Lemon peel

Combine gin and vermouth with ice in a mixer. Stir. Pour into a martini glass, add one dash of Angostura bitters and garnish with a lemon twist.
