Available Light Theater brings to the MadLab stage British playwright Alan Bennett’s Tony award winning play about the students of a boys’ grammar school in England. The students grapple with the differences in educational approaches of their teachers and the differences within themselves — race, class and sexuality. When loveable, teach-for-education’s-sake teacher Hector is found fondling a student, another teacher, the cut-throat Irwin, faces his own homosexual urges. This play is a testament to how our early educational experiences can shape us. “The History Boys” is full of lessons all its own.
