Regardless of the cultural climate, Britain is remarkably consistent at churning out snappy guitar bands with a knack for melody. The Vaccines might be just the antidote for you rockists out there mourning the continued reign of synthetic club music and bleary stonewashed haze.
Not that they’re for NME subscribers only. Come of Age shows a keen understanding of what makes pop music tick, regardless of which tools you use to build it. That the music feels retro says less about the band than it does about the musical environment we’ve been swimming in lately.
Tuesday’s show is also a chance to preview CD102.5 Day performers San Cisco, who’ll open this gig.
