Four local creative couples dish on what it’s like to date an artist

Pearl S. Buck, the masterful and Nobel prize-winning author, once described a creative person as “a human creature born abnormally, inhumanly sensitive. To him, a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a love, a lover is a god, and failure is death.”

As if relationships weren’t hard enough.

Aw, just joking. We at Alive love creative folk, and we found four couples that make art (either together or separately) and talked to them about how their innate passion for all things creative has influenced — and often inspired — the other.
